  3. The float operates
  4. in the float
  5. circuit to control
  6. the amount of fuel
  7. that is consumed. 
  8. It floats in the
  9. fuel bowl in the
  10. carburetor.  When
  11. fuel is consumed,
  12. the level in the
  13. bowl goes down, the
  14. float goes down,
  15. and a valve opens
  16. to let more fuel
  17. into the bowl. 
  18. This pushes the
  19. float back up and
  20. the valve closes.
